I am in my 50s and have gained weight over the years. Years ago I was at my goal weight but questioned my BMI target weight. I have gained weight over the last 22 years, but lost 30 lbs this year. The Omron Fat Loss Monitor helps me understand and motivates to reach my healthy goal weight. It appears accurate for my current weight (body fat 27.8%). I have a friend who is very fit and works out daily, whose body fat reading was 13%, which he considers accurate. It is important to follow the guidance using the monitor. It is my experience that readings are consistent and useful. I tested it against a monitor at the gym and units were within 0.1% body fat. I looked at the trend of my weight loss for the last 10 lbs and % body fat, and readings are consistent with decrease in % body fat that should occur. I am psyched to lose my next 10 lbs and look forward to my next doctor's visit to discuss a target goal weight based on body fat % rather than the arbitrary BMI number.
